After photographing Kalyssa and Michael’s engagement photos in Joshua Tree National Park, this is officially one of my favorite locations! The sky was so stormy during their Joshua Tree engagement. It created such a moody vibe. We started their session at the cholla cactus garden and then drove around until we found an open area with Joshua Trees. Both locations are super flat and easily accessible.
We wanted to incorporate two different locations because Joshua Tree is so unique. The background is filled with open desert, mountains, rocks, and of course a lot of trees. They genuinely trusted Niko and my vision and that is so rewarding. We were able to use our imagination during their Joshua Tree engagement photos and try new shots. Kalyssa and Michael were the absolute sweetest and we cannot wait to document their wedding in Yosemite National Park later this year. We are so incredibly grateful that they took us to not one but two national parks in 2023!
