Boho Joshua Tree Engagement Session

Denise reached out to my husband Niko Navarro Films to shoot her engagement film! I was so excited when she did because we threw in photos for her as well during the session! I had so much fun tagging along! They are having an international Bali wedding that we aren’t shooting but we felt so lucky they wanted us to be apart of the process in some way. She decided on Joshua Tree National Park as their location and wanted a boho themed look. Her dress complimented this theme PERFECTLY! Denise wanted to incorporate the beautiful rocks, Joshua Trees, and scenes of her and her fiance in the road with the epic backdrop of the park. Niko and I found this private area and let me tell you, it was perfect! We were able to incorporate all three settings she wanted! We may have had to make a couple quick turn offs on the side of the road, but the adventure was well worth it. Hands down one of my favorite locations! I think everyone should have a photo session here because it is that breathtaking.

Something I truly appreciate about Denise is she kept me SO involved leading up to the shoot. From texts on different spots she liked, to her outfits, and their personalities as a couple. I love this. You should never feel like you are unsure of reaching out to Niko or I leading up to your session with us. The planning process is so exciting and communication shows us how invested our couple is. We all had the best day, with the best light, weather, warmth, and beautiful golden sun. Plus the desert! It was a dream. Denise and Patrick are so comfortable with each other and made our job so easy. Photographing couples that are deep in love and down to earth are our absolute favorites.

My favorite part of the whole day was when we finished up the shoot I asked if there were down to sit in the road to capture additional shots and Denise responded yes without hesitation! I was skeptical at first because it was a busy street but the shots we caught were so worth it! I am so glad they were down for it! The sun is setting directly behind them and created such a warm glowy atmosphere. Niko Navarro Films and I captured the most gorgeous shots followed by the most beautiful desert sunset.
